No. 115 Sanghi Street is where we do all our work for Dalal Exports. It’s an old building, and the wiring is a bit of a mess, but it has character. We’ve been on this street for years and we know most of the other business owners by their first names. The morning routine is always the same: open the windows to get some air, start the computer, and see what the mailman brought. Sanghi Street is narrow, so it’s always a squeeze when the trucks come through to drop things off for the shops. We do a lot of checking and double-checking on the export forms because one mistake can cause a big headache later on. The desk lamp in the corner flickers sometimes, which is annoying, but we haven't gotten around to fixing it yet. We usually eat our lunch at our desks while we talk about the news or what’s happening in the neighborhood. It’s not a high-pressure corporate environment, but we do take the work seriously. There’s a certain rhythm to how we pack things and how we track the orders across the ocean. It’s just a small team of us doing our part. The sun sets behind the building opposite ours and that’s usually our cue to start winding down for the night. We like it here, even with the dust and the constant noise from the street outside.
