About Jai Shree Anjaneya Hollow Bricks – Building & Construction Material in Mettur
Our brickyard is out at 88, Madayankuttai in Salem. If you have ever been to this part of Salem, you know it gets incredibly hot in the afternoons. Making hollow bricks is heavy work. We spend our days mixing the materials and getting the molds ready. It is a lot of repetitive movement, stacking the finished bricks so they can set properly. The dust gets everywhere, in your hair and clothes, but you get used to it after a week or two. We started this because there was a lot of building happening around here and people needed materials that were solid. We do not have any big fancy signs, just the bricks piled high. Most of our workers are local men who have been doing this for a long time. We try to keep the yard organized, but with trucks coming in and out, it usually looks a bit messy by midday. We have a small shed where we take breaks and try to stay out of the sun for a few minutes. It is honest work, and it feels good to see a finished pile of bricks ready to go out to a construction site. Salem is a tough place to work outdoors, but we have a good rhythm going. We just keep making the bricks, day after day, and try to keep things moving. It is how we have always done it here at the yard.
