Ranie Garments

We've been at 26 Sv Colony 1St Street for a while now. Most people know us around Pn Road here in Mettupalayam. We just handle garments and sewing all day. It gets pretty busy when the new fabric rolls come in. My cousin helps out with the packing sometimes. We have a couple of machines that hum along from morning until we close up at night. The street outside is usually full of bikes and people walking by to the shops. It’s not a huge place but we make it work with the space we have. Sometimes the power goes out and we just sit outside for a bit until it comes back. We don't do much fancy advertising or anything like that. People just find us or hear about us from their neighbors. It’s just regular work, making sure the clothes are ready on time. We keep the scrap fabric in bins in the corner. Some days are slow and we just tidy up the shelves. Other days it feels like there isn't enough floor space to walk. That's just how the garment business is. We like being in this part of town because everything is close. The tea shop is just around the corner and that helps during long afternoons. It’s just us doing our thing here on 1st street. We have some old chairs for when people need to wait. It’s a simple life.
