Nila Granites

Nila Granites is a small setup located at 53/2 on New Extension St.1. We are right in the middle of a developing area, so there’s always construction noise nearby. We fit right in because we are usually making some noise of our own with the stone. We handle granite for all sorts of local projects. It’s mostly just us working out of this location, keeping an eye on the stock and helping people pick out what they need for their homes. We don't have a corporate structure or anything like that. It’s more of a family feel where we just do what needs to be done. The street can get a bit crowded with trucks, but we make it work. We’ve learned over the years that granite is a tough business because of the weight and the risk of breaking things, so we take our time. We aren't trying to be the biggest supplier in the world. We just want to be the place people can come to on St. 1 when they need a good piece of stone. Our yard is a bit dusty and the office is just a desk with a lot of papers, but it’s where we live our lives. We enjoy meeting the people who live nearby and seeing the houses go up. It feels good to see our stone used in the neighborhood. We stay busy and keep things moving as best as we can.
