M Nanjappa Chettiar Matric Higher Secondary School

Our school is right on Avinashi Road, specifically at the Muthalipalayam Pirivu in Arasur. If you are coming from Coimbatore, you probably know the spot. It is a busy area with a lot of traffic passing by all the time. We have been here for a good number of years now, providing a place for the local children to study. M Nanjappa Chettiar is the name on the front of the building, and we take care of students from primary levels all the way up to higher secondary. The school isn't a fancy resort; it’s a place of work for the teachers and a place of learning for the students. We have several blocks of classrooms and a paved area where the kids gather for their morning assembly. It can get quite hot in the afternoons, so we have fans in all the rooms. The staff here are mostly local people from Arasur or nearby parts of Coimbatore. They commute in every day and know the families of the students well. We don't spend much time writing fancy mission statements or things like that. Mostly, we are just busy making sure the registers are marked and the lessons are taught according to the syllabus. There is a lot of noise during the lunch break, which is normal for any school with so many kids. It’s a straightforward place, really, and we just keep things running one day at a time. The local tea stall across the road is where most of us go after work.
