We operate out of shop D-8 inside the Krishi Upay Mandi in Merta-City. If you’ve ever been to a mandi, you know it’s a loud, dusty, and very busy place. There are tractors and trucks moving around at all hours, and the smell of grain and earth is everywhere. Our spot is right in the middle of that action. It’s a basic shop, mostly used for storage and a bit of desk work for the accounts. We don’t have air conditioning or fancy furniture; we just have what we need to get the trading done. Most days, we are out on the floor or talking to the people who bring their produce in. It is hard work and the days start very early, often before the sun is even up properly. Merta-City is a hub for this kind of thing, and being in the mandi means we are right where the trade happens. We’ve built a lot of relationships over the years just by being here every day. It’s not the kind of job where you wear a suit. We wear clothes that we don't mind getting a bit of dirt on. The office part of D-8 is small, and we usually have tea with whoever drops by to talk business. It’s a very local way of doing things, and we wouldn’t have it any other way despite the noise and the long hours.
