Shiv Timber Mart

Shiv Timber Mart is located right in Mehsana, Gujarat, with the pincode 384 002. If you come by our place, the first thing you will notice is the smell of raw wood and sawdust in the air. It is a very specific scent that stays on your clothes all day. We have been here in Mehsana for quite some time now, and the yard is usually crowded with different types of timber logs and cut planks. The sun gets really hot in Gujarat, so we try to do the heavy moving early in the morning before it gets too much to handle. We have a small shed where we keep the ledger books and where the staff takes their tea breaks. It is a noisy place with the sound of wood being moved around and trucks backing in and out to pick up loads. The floor of the office is always a bit sandy because people are walking in from the yard all the time. We do not use any fancy computer systems for everything; a lot of our work is still done with notebooks and pens. Our neighbors know us well, and we have become a regular part of the local landscape here. It is honest work and it keeps us busy from sunrise until the gates close at night. We just focus on the wood and making sure the counts are right.
