Shrey Industries

We are over at Plot No. 130 in the Gidc. Shrey Industries is a pretty straightforward place. We do a lot of fabrication and general manufacturing work. The building has been here for years, and you can tell by the marks on the walls and the worn-out floors from all the heavy gear. We have a few lathes and some welding equipment that keep us busy from early morning till night. It’s usually pretty hot in the summer because the roof is metal and the sun beats down on it, but we have some big fans that help a little bit. We are just a small group of workers. Most of us have been doing this for most of our lives and don't know much else. There is always a pile of scrap metal in the corner that we need to clear out but never seem to find the time for. We don't have a fancy lobby for visitors or anything like that. If you come by, you’ll probably find us on the shop floor with earplugs in and goggles on. We mostly work for other businesses in the area, helping them out when they need specific parts made or fixed up. It is just steady, daily work for us. Sometimes the machines break down and we have to spend the whole day fixing them instead of producing anything, which is a bit frustrating. But that’s how it is in a factory. We just keep going and try to stay on top of the orders.
