Shankar Timbers

Shankar Timbers is located at Plot No. 127/129 in the GIDC, right across from Gozariya Village. Having two plots gives us a decent amount of room to stack our wood. We deal with all kinds of timber that people need for construction or furniture. The yard is always full of the smell of sawdust and fresh timber. It is a very hands-on business. We spend our time measuring logs and using the big saws to get the right sizes. We don't have a fancy office or any high-tech gadgets. We use a pencil and a tape measure mostly. People from the village often drop by to see what we have in stock. We have been here for a long time, so we are a familiar face in the area. The work is heavy and it can be tiring, but we like being outdoors and working with our hands. We don't do any big advertising. Word of mouth among the local builders is how we get most of our work. We keep things simple. We buy the wood, cut it to the sizes people want, and then load it onto the trucks. Sometimes the yard gets a bit messy with all the scraps, but we try to clear it out when we have a spare moment. It’s a steady life and we are happy with our spot near the village. We just keep doing our work every day.
