Krishnaraj Fertichem Pvt. Ltd. sits on Plot No. 5-6 within the Gidc Estate. The easiest way to spot us is to look for the water tank, because we are right opposite it. Being in the Gidc means we are surrounded by all kinds of other workshops and factories, so there is always the sound of engines and metal clanging in the background. We work with fertilizers and chemicals, which means the air has a specific sharp scent to it most of the time. The workers wear their overalls and spend a lot of time loading sacks onto the back of trucks. It’s heavy work and everyone’s hands get a bit dirty by the end of the shift. We have a small cabin where we keep the paperwork and the phone, but mostly we are out where the product is being bagged. When it rains, the ground around the estate gets a bit muddy, so we have to be careful with the piles of sacks. People from the local farms often stop by to see what we have ready for the next planting season. We don’t have any fancy signs or big lights. Just the plot number and the daily routine of getting the batches mixed and moved out to the customers. It is a simple life of production and logistics in the middle of the estate. We just try to stay busy and keep the inventory moving.
