You can find us at Plot No. 113 in Phase-1 of the Gidc. This part of the industrial estate has been around for a long time. Our building is one of those standard industrial units with the heavy rolling shutters. Inside, we have the plastic molding machines running most of the day. They make a rhythmic sort of thumping sound that you stop noticing after an hour. The air usually smells a bit like warm plastic, which is just part of the job here. We handle a lot of different plastic goods, mostly stuff for other businesses nearby. It gets pretty cramped inside because we have bags of raw material stacked up almost to the ceiling. We try to keep things organized, but when a big order comes in, the whole floor gets covered in crates. There are no fancy meetings or PowerPoint presentations happening here. We just look at the orders and set the machines. Most of the guys have been working these same machines for years. We take our lunch under the tree outside because it’s cooler than being inside with the heaters. It’s a simple operation really. We just come in, do the work, and make sure the machines are turned off properly before we head out. Phase-1 is always busy with tempos and lorries, so there is always something to watch while we wait for the day to end.
