Vimlex Poly Packaging

Our place is at Plot No 36 in the Dediyasan Industrial Estate. If you know the area well, it’s not hard to find us. Vimlex Poly Packaging is basically just a big shed where we make various types of bags and wraps. There is almost always the sound of plastic being cut or sealed by the machines. It’s a bit noisy, so we usually have to shout a little to hear each other. The floor is often covered in small plastic scraps that we sweep up at the end of every shift. We started with just one old machine, and now we have three. It’s been a very slow growth for us. We don’t really have a big team, just a few local people who live in the nearby colonies. The Dediyasan estate can get quite busy in the mornings with the tea stalls and the big trucks moving around. We keep our doors open for the breeze, though it doesn’t help much during the summer months. The office is just a corner we partitioned off with some old plywood. We track everything in ledgers and sometimes on the computer if it’s working right that day. Customers come by to pick up their bundles of packaging material. It isn't a glamorous business, but it’s what we know. We stay until the last order is packed up and ready. It’s just how the work goes here for us.
