Vikas Industries

Plot No 75 in the Dediyasan Industrial Estate is where we are based. It’s a bit of a dusty place, but it’s home for us. We’ve been here at Vikas Industries for quite a while now. The machines start up early in the morning and usually don’t stop until late. We make various metal parts and do fabrication work. It’s not one of those shiny, clean places you see in brochures. There’s grease on the floor and the sound of hammers hitting steel is something you get used to. We aren't big on fancy meetings or corporate talk. Most of the time, we just chat over a cup of tea about what needs to be finished by Friday. Sometimes a machine breaks and we have to spend half the day fixing it, which is annoying, but that’s just part of it. People from the other plots drop by to borrow tools or ask for advice, and we do the same. It’s a decent community here in the estate. We don’t have a marketing department. If we do a good job, word gets around, and that’s how we get most of our work. It’s a simple way of doing things, but it works for us. We just try to be fair with everyone and get the orders out on time. The summer heat is tough under the tin roof, but we keep going. That’s pretty much our story.
