Uma Packaging

We are based at Plot No 151 in the Dediyasan Industrial Estate. This is where Uma Packaging does all its work. The building is a simple industrial shed, like most of the others on this street. We spend our time dealing with boxes, bags, and all sorts of packing materials. It’s a lot of cardboard and tape. The machines can be a bit finicky, so we have to keep an eye on them. We have a small team here. Most of us live nearby, so the commute isn't too bad. We start our day early when the air is still a bit cool. Once the sun gets high, it gets pretty hot inside the warehouse. We don't have air conditioning, just some big fans that move the air around. We don't do anything fancy like branding or big advertisements. Most of our work comes from people who have known us for years. They know where we are and what we do. We stack the pallets high and wait for the delivery trucks to arrive. Sometimes we have to move everything around to find a specific order, which can be a bit of a hassle. It’s just a normal part of the day. We are just a group of people making sure things get packed up right. It’s simple, steady work in Dediyasan. We just focus on the stack of orders on the desk.
