Shekhar Textiles

If you head down to the Mehsana-2 Gidc Estate in Dediyasan, you’ll find us at Plot 323 and 324. We’ve been running Shekhar Textiles out of these sheds for quite some years now. The sound of the looms is the first thing you notice when you walk in. It’s a constant rhythmic thudding that stays in your head even after you go home. We deal with all sorts of fabrics here. There’s always lint in the air and rolls of cloth stacked up against the walls. It’s a family-style environment even though it’s a factory. Most of the staff have been with us since the beginning. We don’t bother with fancy offices or expensive furniture. We’d rather spend that on keeping the machines maintained. Mehsana is a good place for textiles, and we’re glad to be part of the GIDC community here. Sometimes we have to work through the night to finish a big order, but that’s just the nature of the textile business. We don't make any grand claims about what we do. We just weave the cloth, check for defects, and pack it up for the market. It’s simple, honest work that requires a lot of patience. If you’re looking for us, just follow the sound of the machinery near the back of the estate. We’ll be there working the threads.
