Down in Mehsana at Plot No-8 in the GIDC Industrial Estate, that’s where you’ll find us. It’s part of the Dediyasan Mehsana-II section, which is a bit of a mouthful when you’re telling someone the address over the phone. We deal with polymers, so the air usually has that specific plastic smell that you just get used to after the first week. The warehouse is usually stacked high with bags of raw material, and we’re always moving things around with the pallet jack. It’s a lot of physical work, especially when the weather in Gujarat gets really hot in the afternoons. We try to keep the fans going, but it only does so much. The team here is small, mostly locals who live nearby in the district. We aren't trying to be some giant corporation; we’re just a bunch of people making sure the orders go out on time. The road leading up to the estate can be a bit rough after the monsoon, so we’ve learned to drive carefully around the potholes. Most of our day is spent watching the machines and making sure the settings are right. It’s repetitive, but it’s what we know. We have our tea breaks together under the shade of the small tree outside the main door. It’s not a glamorous life, but it’s steady work and we’ve made a lot of friends in the other units around the estate.
