Aakar Equipments

We’re based out in the GIDC Industrial Estate Phase-1, over in Dediyasan. Being in an industrial estate means we’re surrounded by other people making things out of metal and plastic. Our shop, Aakar Equipments, is right near Sardardham. It’s a busy area with a lot of movement. Inside our unit, it smells like oil and metal shavings. We spend our time manufacturing and assembling different types of equipment. There’s no air conditioning in the main work area, so the big fans are always whirring. We’ve got some lathes and drill presses that stay busy most of the day. The office is just a small partitioned space where the phone sits. We don’t spend much time sitting down, though. There’s always something that needs fixing or a part that needs to be moved to the loading dock. We get a lot of local guys coming in looking for specific parts or asking if we can build something custom. We just tell them what we can do and how long it’ll take. It’s a no-nonsense kind of place. We don’t have a receptionist; usually, whoever is closest to the door just wipes their hands on a rag and talks to the visitor. It’s how things are done here in the estate. We’ve been at this spot for a while now and the routine stays pretty much the same. We just keep our heads down and get the manufacturing done.
