Lafarge Surma Cement

Our office for Lafarge Surma Cement is based in Howrah, right on the third floor of the building in Block-C. It is Room number 3, and you can find us if you head down D.S. Lane. It is not a very big office, but it serves the purpose for what we do with the cement business. Mostly, it is just a lot of desks piled with papers and the sound of the ceiling fans. We have been in this part of Howrah for a good while now. People know us around here. The stairs to the third floor can be a bit of a climb, especially in the heat, but we are used to it by now. We spend most of our day talking to people about deliveries or checking on the inventory coming in from the plants. It gets pretty loud sometimes because of the traffic outside, but you get used to that too. We are just a group of local folks trying to keep the supply moving. There is nothing fancy about the way we work. We use old ledgers and some computers that have seen better days. When the tea man comes by in the afternoon, that is usually when we take a small break. It is a straightforward operation. We don’t try to make it look like something it isn't. If you need to find us, just look for the sign near the stairs. We are usually here from morning until the sun goes down, just keeping things on track for the cement orders.
