V.R. Handloom

V.R. Handloom is located over at number 13 in Raizadgam. It’s a small operation, and we like it that way. We spend our days working with fabrics and threads. The sound of the machines is something you just get used to after a while. It becomes like background noise that you don't even notice anymore. The building we are in is old, but it stays relatively cool even when the sun is beating down outside. We don’t have a big staff. It’s just a few of us who have been doing this for years. We know the rhythm of the work and what needs to happen next without having to say much to each other. Raizadgam is a quiet enough place, which suits us just fine. We don’t have any big signs or fancy decorations in our workspace. There are piles of cloth everywhere and cones of thread sitting on every available surface. Sometimes we have to spend a whole day just sorting through colors. It’s a lot of repetitive work, but there’s a certain satisfaction in seeing a finished piece. We don't spend money on advertising or big promotions. Most of our work goes to people who have known us for a long time. We just show up every morning, open the doors, and get to work. It’s a simple business, built on doing the same thing day after day. We’re just regular people making a living with handlooms.
