Varun General Store

Varun General Store is a small spot on the Main Road, specifically on Pvs Road in Shastri Nagar, Meerut. We are located right near Kuti Chowk, which is a very busy part of the 250001 area. My day usually starts with the delivery trucks dropping off crates of milk and bread right on the curb. I have to move quickly to get everything inside before the traffic builds up too much. The shop is filled with the usual stuff—spices, lentils, cleaning supplies, and plenty of snacks for the kids who stop by on their way home from school. I’ve lived in Meerut my whole life, so I’m used to the hustle and the loud voices at the chowk. The shop has been a fixture here for a while, and the wooden shelves have started to sag a bit under the weight of all the flour bags. I don't have a computer or any fancy system; I just know where everything is by heart. If someone asks for a specific brand of washing powder, I can usually reach for it without even looking. The evenings are the busiest time when the workers come back and need to pick up supplies for dinner. I usually have a tea stall friend nearby who brings me a cup every few hours to keep me going. It’s a modest way to make a living, but I like being my own boss.
