Acme Surgicals

Acme Surgicals is found at No. 53 Umesh Vihar, right in the heart of Transport Nagar. If you’ve ever been to Transport Nagar, you know it’s a place for trucks and heavy lifting. There is always a layer of dust in the air from the tires and the loading docks. Our place is tucked in between some transport agencies and small workshops. We deal with surgical supplies, so we try our best to keep our interior as clean as possible despite the dusty environment outside. The door is usually shut tight to keep the noise and the exhaust fumes out. Inside, it’s a different world with white walls and stacks of medical boxes piled up to the ceiling. We spend a lot of time talking to truck drivers and making sure they know which boxes are fragile. It’s a lot of physical work, moving crates and checking manifest lists. The tea stall around the corner is where we usually end up during our breaks, chatting with the other guys from the neighborhood. It’s an honest way to spend the day, even if it’s a bit gritty at times. We don’t have a marketing team or anything like that; we just rely on the fact that we’ve been here for years and people know we have what they need. We just keep our heads down and do the work, making sure every order is correct before it goes onto the truck. It keeps us busy and out of trouble most of the week.
