Down in Sadar Chowk, right inside the K K Market, you will find our shop at number 1. It is part of the old Sadar Ganj Bazar in Meerut, a place that has been our home for a long time. Mostly, we deal in dry groceries like pulses and grains, plus all the different spices people need for their daily cooking. Because this part of Meerut is so chaotic, there is always something going on outside our door. Early mornings are for sorting the stock before the market gets too crowded with shoppers. One thing we love is how the shop always smells like roasted grains and fresh spices. Plenty of regular customers visit us from across the city, mainly because they know we usually have what they are looking for in stock. You will not find any air conditioning or fancy trolleys here; it is just a normal kiryana store where we weigh everything by hand. Usually, the wooden counter is covered in ledgers and bags waiting for people to come collect them. Even though we try to keep things in order, a busy market day always leaves a bit of a mess to clean up. Running a local business like this means we are just part of the community, making sure everyone has a place to get their supplies without much trouble. We have been here through many seasons and plan to keep going just the same way for years to come.
