Shree Krishna Shoppee

You can find us right across from M Block, near Raj Height by the Ganga Sagar Gate here in Meerut. This shop has been part of my life for a good bit now. It’s a decent sized place where we keep all the things a household might need. I spend most of my time behind the counter, watching the street and waiting for the regulars. We sell everything from notebooks and pens to laundry detergent and cooking ingredients. The mornings are usually the busiest because everyone is rushing to get stuff before work or school. I try to keep the milk crates organized but it’s a struggle. The shelves are filled with colorful packets of biscuits and snacks that the kids like. It’s a bit of a maze inside sometimes because we try to fit so much in. The light isn't great in the back corner, so I have to use a torch sometimes to find things. Meerut summers are tough, so the cold drink fridge is always running hard. I usually eat my lunch right here at the desk between customers. It’s not a fancy supermarket, just a local shop where we know everyone’s preferences. Sometimes the delivery van blocks the road and people get annoyed. I just try to keep things moving. By evening, the street lamps come on and things quiet down a little. I count the cash, lock the door, and head home tired. It's a steady routine and it keeps me busy enough every day.
