Shivam Oversaes

Shivam Oversaes is based at No. 205 in Subhash Puri, which is part of the Kankar Khera area. It’s more of a residential-style neighborhood, so it feels a bit different than being in a big industrial park. We use the ground floor of the building for our office and storage. It’s a family business that’s been around for a while. My dad started it and I just sort of stepped in to help out and eventually stayed. We handle different kinds of items for export, so there is always something new to look at. The office is a bit crowded with old furniture and stacks of paper, but it’s comfortable for us. We know all the neighbors around Subhash Puri, and it’s a friendly place to be. We don’t have a big marketing budget or anything like that. We just do our work and talk to our customers on the phone. Sometimes the internet is slow, which can be annoying when we’re trying to send documents, but we manage. It’s a very low-key operation. We aren’t trying to change the world; we’re just trying to run a decent business and keep things moving. We usually close up around six and head home. It’s a steady life and we like the community feel of Kankar Khera. Most of our clients have been with us for years, so they don't mind the simple setup.
