Shiv General Store

I have this shop right across from the police chauki in Hasanpur Kadim. It is a good spot because people always know where it is. I moved to this area in Meerut a few years back and decided to set up Shiv General Store. It is mostly me working here every day of the week. I stock the usual items like biscuits, tea leaves, and spices that everyone in Murlipur Phool uses for their cooking. The shop gets a bit crowded in the evenings when everyone is coming home from work and realizes they forgot to buy milk or something for dinner. I keep the accounts in a thick notebook and try to stay organized, even though it looks a bit messy with boxes stacked up in the corners. The police officers from the chauki often stop by for a cold drink or some chips during their shift. It makes the place feel safe. I don't spend much on decorations because I think people just want to find what they need and go home. Some days are slow, especially when it rains and the road gets muddy, but I still open the shutter at 7 AM. I like talking to the older men who walk past. It is a simple life running a store in Meerut, but it keeps me busy and I feel like I'm doing something useful for the people living nearby.
