Shakumbhari Engineering Works

Our place is out on an unnamed road, so it can be a bit tricky to find if you aren't looking for the big blue gate. We've been doing engineering work here for a long time. It’s mostly just us and the machines. The floor is usually covered in metal shavings by noon. We handle a lot of different repairs. If someone brings in a broken tractor part or some industrial component that’s seen better days, we take a look at it. It's not a glamorous job. The roof leaks a bit when it rains hard, and we have to move the equipment around to keep it dry. We spend most of the day in greasy overalls. It’s just the way it is when you’re working with heavy metal and old grease. We don't do much talking, mostly just focusing on what’s on the bench. Sometimes a neighbor stops by for a chat while we’re working on a lathe. We don't have a website or anything like that, just the shop and our tools. It's quiet out here on this road, away from the main traffic, which is nice when you need to concentrate on a tricky weld. We’ve had the same couple of guys working here for years. We know each other's habits. We just keep the machines running and try to stay busy enough to keep the lights on.
