Sahayog Industrial Handitex Co-Op Federation Ltd.

Our office is at 108 East Kalyan Nagar, right by the Nochandi Ground. It’s a bit of a mouthful of a name, but we just think of ourselves as a group of people working together. Being a co-op means things work a bit differently here. We have a lot of meetings where everyone has a say, which can take a long time sometimes. The building is an old one, and the paint is peeling in the corners. We handle a lot of textiles and hand-made goods. You can usually find stacks of fabric sitting around on the floor. We spend our days coordinating with different weavers and makers. It’s a lot of phone calls and ledger books. We don't really use much fancy software. The Nochandi Ground nearby gets really busy during fair season, and the whole area changes. We’ve been here long enough to see the neighborhood change quite a bit. The desks are all mismatched because we just picked them up over the years. We make sure everyone gets their fair share and the work gets done properly. It’s a lot of effort to keep everything organized, especially with so many people involved. We just try to stay honest and work hard. It’s not a shiny corporate office, just a place where real work happens. We drink a lot of tea and talk about how to get the next batch of goods out.
