Sagar Hair Cutting

Sagar Hair Cutting is located over in Abdullapur, specifically in the Jakeer Colony area of Meerut. The shop isn't hard to find if you are walking through the colony streets. It’s a small space where I spend most of my day from morning until the sun goes down. I have a couple of chairs and the usual scissors and combs that have been around for quite some time now. Meerut can get very dusty, so I spend a good amount of time dusting off the shelves and the glass bottles. People from around the colony come in mostly for a quick hair trim or a shave. It is a very local spot where neighbors usually bump into each other and start talking about things happening in the city or the weather. I don’t use any complicated machines, just the standard stuff that works. The walls have a few old pictures on them, and the floor is usually covered in hair until I get a chance to sweep it up between visitors. Sometimes it is very quiet in the afternoons when the sun is at its peak, and I just sit near the entrance to catch a bit of a breeze. It is just a regular barbershop where men come to get cleaned up without any fuss. I’ve seen kids grow up coming here, and now they bring their own friends. It is just a part of the daily life here in Jakeer Colony.
