Royal Avenue Salon

Royal Avenue Salon is located in Abu Plaza, which is right in the middle of Abulane in Meerut. If you know Abulane, you know it is the busiest place for shopping around here. We are shop number 188/7, and the Sagar Ratna hotel is very close by, so we often get the smell of food coming into the salon. The plaza is always full of people looking for clothes or shoes. Our shop is a place where they can stop and take a break. We have mirrors along the walls and some black spinning chairs. It is a place for both men and women, so it stays pretty busy most of the week. The floor is white tile and it shows every bit of hair, so we are always sweeping. We have a small television in the corner that is usually tuned to the news or a cricket match. The water heater sometimes takes a while to get going on cold Meerut mornings, but we make it work somehow. We aren't some fancy brand from a big city. We are just a local salon in a busy market. People like that they can just drop in without a fancy appointment. We keep our tools clean and our scissors sharp, and that is about it. It’s a noisy, lively place to work, and we are right in the heart of the action every day.
