Puri Kirana & General Store

Puri Kirana & General Store is located on Nagla Road in Ram Nagar. We are part of the Kanker Khera area in Meerut. If you’re heading towards Mahanubhav Ashram, you’ll pass right by us. It’s a bit of a quieter spot compared to the main city center, but the road still gets its fair share of traffic. The shop itself is tucked into a brick building. I’ve got the usual assortment of kirana items. Bags of rice, different kinds of dals, and those small packets of shampoo that people like. It’s a lot of work keeping track of what is running out. The shelves are made of wood and they’ve started to creak a little over the years. In the winter, Meerut gets quite cold, and the air feels heavy near the Ashram. I usually keep a small heater behind the counter to stay warm while waiting for customers. Most people who come in live just a few houses down. They come for small things, maybe a loaf of bread or some matches. I don’t try to make the place look like a big supermarket. It’s just a local store where the jars are labeled by hand and the floor is swept when I find the time. Sometimes the monkeys from the nearby trees come onto the roof and make a lot of noise, which is just part of living in this part of town. It is a simple life here on Nagla Road.
