Orient Clothing

You can find us on the second floor here at Victoria Garden, right near Jail Chungi in Meerut. Getting up the stairs is a bit of a workout every morning, but you get used to it after a week or two. The building is usually buzzing with people coming in and out of the different offices nearby. Orient Clothing is where we spend our hours surrounded by stacks of fabric and half-finished pieces. It is not a shiny showroom with bright lights, just a practical space where we handle the orders. Looking out the window, you can see the traffic around the Chungi area, which never seems to stop. Meerut has its own pace, and we just follow along with it. We usually keep the windows open when the weather is decent, though the dust from the road can be a bit much sometimes. Our desks are usually covered in papers and measuring tapes. Sometimes the electricity goes out and we just sit and talk until the generator kicks in or the lights come back. It’s a local business through and through. We aren't trying to be anything we aren't. We just show up, do the cutting and the packing, and go home when the sun sets. It’s the same routine most days, but it works for us. If you’re ever in this part of town, you’ll probably see us hauling bags down to the ground floor. It’s just how we get things done here and we don't make a big fuss about it.
