Narma General Store

You can find Narma General Store inside the Chairman Market Gallery, right in the middle of the Cycle Market in Meerut Cantt, near Ashok Ki Lat. It’s an interesting place to be because of all the cycle shops surrounding us. There’s always the sound of bells and the smell of new tires and grease in the air. My shop is part of a long gallery, so it’s narrow and goes back quite a way. I’ve filled every inch of it with goods. I sell a lot of small things that people need on the go, like cold drinks, tobacco, and snacks, but I also have all the regular groceries for the home. Since I’m in a gallery, I don’t get much natural light, so the tube lights stay on all day. It makes the place feel bright and busy even when the sky is gray outside. I spend a lot of time unpacking crates and organizing the small plastic drawers where I keep things like needles, thread, and batteries. It’s easy to lose things in a shop this packed, so I have to stay on top of it. The floor is made of old tiles that have seen better days. I’ve been here through many summers and winters, and I’ve seen the market change a lot. But the way I run my shop stays the same—just providing what’s needed to the people who pass through this gallery every day. It's a busy life, but it suits me well.
