Monique is tucked away in Bombay Bazar at 167-I. If you've ever walked through Meerut Cantt, you know it's got a certain feel to it. Our shop isn't the biggest one on the block, but we try to keep it looking decent. We spend a lot of time just straightening things out and talking to whoever wanders in. Sometimes it’s busy, and other times we just sit and watch the rain or the people passing by. We don't have a big marketing team or anything like that. It’s just us. We’ve got some old wooden shelves that have been here forever. They creak a bit, but they hold everything just fine. Working in the bazar means you see all sorts of characters. We know most of the other shopkeepers, and we usually have a quick chat while we're sweeping the front in the morning. It’s not a fancy life, but it’s ours. We don't make big promises. If we have what you want, great. If not, we might know who does. We keep our hours pretty regular, though sometimes we close a bit early if the weather is bad or if there's a family thing. People seem to appreciate that we're just regular folks doing our thing. The light in the back of the shop is a bit dim, but we’re used to it. It’s a comfortable place to spend the day and we like the neighbors and the local tea.
