Mohit Garments

Our place is in Sita Palace, which is right across from Bank Colony on Garh Road. It’s a decent location, though the traffic on Garh Road can be a nightmare during rush hour. I usually get here around nine to start opening up. The shop is on the ground level, so it’s easy for people to just walk in from the street. We’ve got these heavy metal shutters that are a pain to lift every morning. Inside, it’s mostly just rows of clothes on hangers. We don’t have any fancy decorations or soft music playing. Most of the time, the only sound is the hum of the fan and the cars outside. My nephew helps me with the accounts on the weekends because I’m not very good with the computer. We keep a variety of garments, mostly for men and kids. The lighting could be better, but it’s enough to see what you’re buying. We’ve had the same neighbors for years, the tailor next door and the small grocery shop. We often share tea in the afternoons when things are slow. It’s a simple business. We buy the stock, we put it on the racks, and we wait for customers. Some days are better than others, but that is just how it is. We try to keep the place clean, but the dust from the road is a never-ending battle. The tiles on the floor are a bit chipped in the corner but nobody really notices.
