Mohd Nadeem Kirana Store

Mohd Nadeem Kirana Store is over in Madina Colony on Fatehullahpur Road. We are in the Meerut Cantt area, so it is a pretty established part of town. This is a kirana store, which means we have all the grocery staples. We have bags of rice, flour, pulses, and different kinds of cooking oils. The shop is usually smelling like spices because we keep them in big containers. It is a neighborhood place through and through. Most of our customers live just a few houses down the street. They come in with their lists and we pull things from the shelves for them. It gets quite busy in the mornings when everyone is getting ready for their meals. We have been here in Meerut for a long time. The shop isn't very large, so we have to stack things high up towards the ceiling. Sometimes we have to use a ladder to get the big packs of detergent or snacks. It is just me and my family working here. We don't have any big signs or bright lights. Just a simple wooden counter and the scales for weighing out the grains. People know us by name and we know theirs. It is a lot of lifting and moving boxes, but that is the job. We try to keep things honest and just run the store the way it has always been run.
