Malik Provision Store

Our store, Malik Provision Store, is tucked away in Ganga Nagar at Kp 30, right in the middle of Welfair Gali in Meerut. Being in a residential lane like Welfair Gali means we mostly see the same people every day. It’s a very local feel here. We focus on provisions, so that means a lot of flour, sugar, ghee, and tea leaves. We also keep some snacks and milk because the neighbors always need those in the morning. The shop isn't very big, so we have to use the space out front sometimes to stack the extra crates of soft drinks. Since we are in a colony, we know exactly whose kid is coming to buy a loaf of bread and whose grandmother needs a specific brand of detergent. We don't have any fancy billing machines; we just use a simple notepad and a pen to keep track of things. Sometimes the neighborhood kids play cricket in the lane outside, and we have to watch out for stray balls hitting the jars. It’s a quiet life, mostly. We open up early and close once the last person has finished their evening cooking. We don't do any big promotions. People just know we are here if they need something for their dinner. It’s a practical, no-nonsense shop where we try to keep the basics available for everyone in the gali.
