We are located at Plot No. 82 in the Dal Mandi area, specifically in Khala Par, Sutharshahi. Being in Muzaffarnagar, specifically in the mandi, means it’s never quiet. There is always someone yelling, a cart rolling by, or a deal being made. Our business is named after the family, Mahendra Kumar and Kamal Kumar, and we’ve been operating out of this spot for years. The building is old, and the stairs are a bit narrow, but it serves us well enough for what we do. We mainly deal in pulses and grains, which is what this whole area is known for. The desks are covered in old ledgers and samples of different lentils. It’s a bit of a maze getting back to our plot if you don’t know your way around Dal Mandi, but once you find us, there’s always a glass of water waiting. We don't have a website or anything like that; we just talk to people face-to-face or on the phone. Most of our customers have been coming to us for decades, and their fathers came to our fathers before that. It’s that kind of place. We don’t put on any airs. We just open the shutters in the morning, see what the market price is, and start our day. It’s honest work, and it keeps us busy from dawn until the market finally closes up for the night. We've stayed right here because this is where the business happens.
