Anil Shukla

My name is Anil Shukla and I work out of the Lic Office. It is where I spend most of my time during the week. The office is a busy place, filled with people coming in to talk about their life insurance or pay their premiums. I have my own little space where I keep my files and meet with anyone who drops by. It isn't a fancy setup, just a desk with a lot of papers and a couple of pens that usually run out of ink when I need them. The Lic Office has its own rhythm, with people queuing up and the sound of stamps hitting paper. I’ve been doing this for a while now, so I know most of the regulars. We talk about the weather or local news while we fill out the forms. It is a very human way to work. I do not use any complicated systems, just my ledger and my computer. Sometimes the light in the office flickers, but we just keep going. It is an honest way to make a living, helping people figure out their plans. I stay until the office closes up for the evening. Then I pack my bag and head home, ready to do the same thing again the next day. It is a simple life at the Lic Office. I usually bring my own lunch and eat it quickly between appointments.
