Shiva Ornaments Artificial Jewellery

We work out of Kundan Creations, and it is usually a very busy place. There are small boxes of beads and metal pieces everywhere you look. If you walk in, you’ll probably see us hunched over a desk with a magnifying glass or a small pair of pliers. Artificial jewellery has so many tiny parts, and they like to roll off the table and hide on the floor. We spend a good amount of time looking for dropped stones. The lighting has to be bright, so we have these big lamps that make the room quite warm in the summer. It isn’t a quiet job. There is always the sound of little metal tools clicking together. We don't have a big storefront with a lot of glass windows. It is more of a workspace where we get things ready. Sometimes the smells from the neighboring shops drift in, usually someone cooking lunch or some incense burning. We have a small bench for visitors, but it usually has a tray of unfinished work sitting on it. We just move things around when someone comes by. It’s not a fancy office, just a place where we put things together piece by piece. Most of our days are spent focusing on the small details and making sure the colors match up right before we pack them away into the storage bins. It takes a lot of patience to sit here all day.
