Our place is located in Tehsil Sardhana, specifically in the village and post of Rahasa. Harshvardhan Textile Skill Foundation Ll is all about working with the people right here in the village. We focus on textile skills, which is really important in this part of the country. It’s a very rural setting, so things are different than they are in the big cities. We don't have a glass office or air conditioning in every room. It’s a practical space where people come to learn and work. Rahasa is a quiet place for the most part, except when we have a full house of workers. We use simple tools and try to keep the old ways of doing things alive while also learning new tricks. Most of the people who work here live just a few minutes away. We don’t go in for big corporate speeches or polished presentations. We just show people how to handle the fabric and how to use the machines. It’s about giving people a way to earn a living with their hands. Sometimes it’s a bit disorganized, but we always get the work done eventually. It’s a very grounded way to spend your day. You can see the fields from our windows. It keeps you connected to where you are. We like it that way and it seems to work out for everyone involved in the foundation.
