Zaid Handloom

Zaid Handloom has been sitting here in New Zakir Colony for quite some time now. We are at number 3158, right on Hapur Road. If you know where the Micro Max service center is, we are just beside it. Most people use the Anakapalli bus stop as a landmark since it is directly opposite our front door. The shop isn’t much to look at from the outside, but inside we have our looms going most of the day. It gets pretty loud with the clicking of the wood and the thread moving back and forth. My family has been doing this kind of handloom work for years. We handle all kinds of cotton and threads. Sometimes the dust from the yarn gets everywhere, so we spend a lot of time sweeping up. Hapur Road stays busy with trucks and buses, so there’s always noise coming in. We don’t really do any big advertising or anything like that. People just walk in because they saw the sign or they know someone who bought from us before. We make blankets, some lungis, and various fabrics that people need for their homes. It’s honest work and it keeps us occupied from morning until it gets dark. The space is a bit cramped because we have so much stock piled up in the corners, but we know where everything is. We just try to get the orders done on time and keep the machines running well.
