Deeya Apparels is my little setup located at No. A-4 in the Cb Staff Quater. It isn't a shop in the middle of a big market. It's more of a home-based thing that I’ve turned into a business. I started it because I had a passion for clothes and wanted to do something for myself. The space is small, but I’ve managed to fit a couple of sewing machines and a cutting table in there. It gets a bit crowded when I have a lot of fabric lying around. People from the staff quarters and nearby areas usually come to me when they need something made or fixed. I don’t have a big sign or any advertisements. Word of mouth is how I get most of my work. My neighbors know what I do and they tell their friends. It's a very personal way of doing business. I often work late into the night when it's quiet. I handle everything from the initial design to the final stitching. It’s a lot for one person, but I enjoy the process. Sometimes my kids help me with the packing or tidying up. It’s not a fancy garment factory. Just a simple place where I do my work every day. Being at the Cb Staff Quater makes it easy for locals to drop by and chat while I work. I’ve been here for a couple of years now.
