Chacha Bhatija General Store

Chacha Bhatija General Store is located in Sec-6, Jagriti Vihar, right on the Main Road. We are quite close to the Factory Outlet, so there is always a lot of movement outside. The name says it all, it is just family running this place in Meerut. We deal with all sorts of things, from snacks to household cleaning stuff. The shop gets crowded in the evenings when people are heading home from work and realize they forgot to buy something for dinner. We have piles of things everywhere because the space is a bit tight, but we know exactly where every item is hidden. The light inside is a bit dim sometimes, and the wooden counter has seen better days, but it does the job. My nephew helps out with the heavy lifting and the inventory while I handle the customers and the accounts. We don't use any fancy computer systems, just a simple notebook to keep track of who owes what. It’s a noisy spot with the traffic and the people shouting, but we’ve gotten used to it over the years. We try to keep the staples like rice, flour, and oil always in stock because that’s what the families around here need most. It’s a simple life running a store like this in Jagriti Vihar. We don't expect much, just enough to keep the doors open and the shelves full for the neighbors and the passersby.
