Bharat Masala is over at Plot No- F-13 in Vikas Enclave on Rohta Road in Meerut. This area has a lot of small businesses and workshops, so there’s always a bit of industrial noise in the background. We have a decent-sized plot where we handle our spice production and packing. It’s not a glamorous job, but it’s what we know. The sun can get really hot on Rohta Road, and the warehouse can feel a bit like an oven in the summer, but we keep the fans going and get the work finished. We don’t have a marketing department or anyone to write fancy things about us. We just make sure the masalas are ground properly and put into the right bags. Sometimes the machines break down and we have to spend the morning fixing them, which puts us behind, but that’s just life in a workshop. People in Meerut have been buying our stuff for a while, and they know what to expect. We keep things basic and don't try to impress anyone with big words. It’s just about getting the product out to the shops and making sure our regulars are satisfied. The floors are often covered in a fine layer of spice dust, and our clothes usually smell like cumin or coriander, but we don't mind much. It’s just how we make our living.
