Bansl General Store

Bansl General Store sits in the New Royal Puri section of Kankerkhera Market. We are right near Ajenta Palace which is a big landmark around here. People often use our shop as a point to meet up or give directions to others. The shop itself is pretty straightforward with rows of goods stacked up. I try to keep things organized but in a general store things always end up a bit mixed together. We have stuff for cooking and cleaning and some stationery too. Meerut can be a loud place and the sounds of the street come right through the front door. I usually sit on a wooden chair near the entrance so I can see people coming and going. We have some regular customers who have been buying from us since we first opened the place. We talk about the local news or the weather while I weigh out their pulses or flour. The lighting is a bit dim towards the back so I have to use a torch sometimes to find the smaller items. It is just a local business run by local people. We don't try to be anything we are not. The sign outside is a bit faded from the sun but everyone knows who we are. It is a simple life of serving the neighborhood and keeping the shelves as full as I can through the year.
