Awesome Lights

You can find Awesome Lights right on NH-58, over in the Dayampur Poka Dabka area near Meerut Cantt. Being right by the highway means we get a lot of noise from the trucks passing by, but it makes it easy for deliveries to reach us. The shop itself is packed with all kinds of bulbs, decorative pieces, and outdoor lighting. We don’t have those fancy glass displays you see in the city malls. Instead, we have shelves made of wood and metal that hold everything we’ve got in stock. The floor is usually a bit cluttered with cardboard boxes because we get new stuff in almost every day. Sometimes the power flutters, which is ironic for a light shop, but we just deal with it. The guys working here have been around for years and they know which bulb fits which socket just by looking at them. We spend a lot of time testing wires and making sure things actually turn on before they leave the shop. It’s a lot of manual work and our hands are usually a bit dirty from the warehouse dust. If you walk in, you’ll probably hear a radio playing in the corner. We don’t have a script for customers; we just talk like normal people and tell them what’s available on the shelf. It’s a straightforward way to run a business and it works for us here in Meerut.
