Avdhesh Kumar Leather Medicine Ball Maker is our little workshop at No. 217 on Diggigarh Road. We are quite close to CCS University, so there are always students and people walking past the door. The road is usually dusty and can get pretty busy with traffic. Inside, we have leather scraps and heavy thread all over the benches. Making these medicine balls is hard work and it really takes a toll on your hands after a few hours. These are real leather balls, not the plastic ones you see in big stores. You can definitely smell the leather when you walk into the room. It’s a basic setup near Aurang Shahapur. We just have our tools and a few worktables. Sometimes folks from the university pop their heads in to see what we are stitching up. We keep the finished balls stacked in the corner until they are ready to go. Some of them are quite heavy. It takes a lot of time to get the stitching even so they don't fall apart during use. Diggigarh Road is always loud, but we just focus on the leather. We don’t do any fancy marketing, people just know we’re at number 217. We have been doing this for a long time and the routine stays the same. We just keep our heads down and make sure every ball is solid before it leaves the shop. Each one takes time to finish.
