Apka General Store

Apka General Store is our little shop over at Bhumiya Ka Pull in Meerut. The address is easy to find if you are around the bridge area. Meerut is a busy city and our spot near the Pull is no different. There is always the sound of rickshaws and bikes passing by. We keep all the small things that people forget to buy at the big markets. Things like matchboxes, batteries, pens, or a single packet of snacks. It is a small place but we make it work. The walls are covered with hanging packets of chips and shampoos. My father started this and now I spend most of my time here. We see the same faces every morning, people going to work or kids on their way to school. The weather in Meerut gets really hot, so we usually have a cold water jar for anyone who needs a drink. We don't have a big team or anything, just a couple of us who take turns behind the counter. The accounting is done in a simple ledger book. Sometimes we sit outside on a plastic chair when it's quiet, just watching the traffic go over the bridge. It isn't a fancy business with glass doors. It’s just a simple wooden counter and shelves. We like it this way because it’s easy and we know everyone who stops by. It’s just a part of the daily life here at Bhumiya Ka Pull.
