Aggarwal & Sons

Our place is on Sharda Road, right near the Delhi Meerut Road in Meerut Cantt. Being in the Cantt area, things are a bit more orderly outside, but the road still gets plenty of traffic. The shop has been here for a good long time. You can tell by the way the counters are worn down in some spots. We have Aggarwal & Sons written on the board, but most people just know us by sight. Inside, it’s full of whatever we could fit on the shelves this week. Sometimes it’s a bit of a squeeze to get through the aisle if we just got a new shipment. We deal with all sorts of items that people need for their houses. It’s a family kind of thing, so you might see different people behind the counter depending on the time of day. We don't have any uniforms or anything corporate. Just regular clothes and a chair to sit on when the feet get tired. The tea stall nearby brings us cups a few times a day. We spend a lot of time just talking to the people from Sharda Road about the weather or the news. Meerut can get quite cold in the winter, so we keep the shutters halfway down sometimes to keep the wind out. In the summer, it’s the opposite. It’s just a normal life, keeping the shop going and making sure the bins are topped up. We don't use fancy labels for the shelves, just marker pen.
