Aarif Kirana Store

We are located in Gali Number 8, which most people call the Punjab Tent House Wali Gali. It’s right off Lisarai Road in the Meerut Cantt area. Rashid Nagar is a crowded place, and our shop is right in the middle of all that activity. I took over this store because it’s what my family has always done. We sell everything from cooking oil to cleaning supplies. It is a very narrow street, so it can get quite loud with people and bikes passing by all day. I spend a lot of time talking to the neighbors who stop in for a few eggs or a kilo of sugar. We don't have any big signs or bright lights. Most people just know we are here because we have been in this spot for years. The shop is small, and we have to stack things all the way to the ceiling to fit it all in. I usually have a radio playing in the background while I work. It is a simple life, and the work is steady. Meerut can be a chaotic city, but inside the shop, things have their own order. I don't try to compete with the big supermarkets. I just focus on the people living in Gali Number 8 and the surrounding streets. They know me, and I know them, and that is how a local business should be. It is just a lot of hard work and staying open late.
